Summer Reading: May 17-July 31

• Read or listen to a book. Choose any format that works for you!
• Log your books on Beanstack or the Beanstack app. Stop by the 2nd Floor Information Desk if you need a paper log.
• For each book you log through July 31, you will automatically be entered into our Summer Reading prize drawing. Ten lucky readers will win $100 Elmhurst City Centre gift cards.
• Extra prize entry for taking part using Beanstack (instead of using paper logs).

Adults and High School students with a valid Elmhurst Public Library card.

Media Match is a new way to provide a classic service Elmhurst Public Library has always provided: matching people to the perfect Library material. Just fill out our short questionnaire to start this custom process. Then, based on your likes and dislikes, we pair you with one of our expert selectors to find your next item to read, watch, or listen to. We look forward to sharing our expertise with you!

• Mark a game piece on the reading log for each day that you read or listen.
• At 10, 20, and 30 days of reading, bring your log to the Kids’ Library to earn a prize.
• Prize pickup begins May 27.
• After 40 days of reading, you’ve completed the program! Come to the Kids’ Library to receive your final prize. Want to keep reading? We hope so! Ask us how at the Kids’ Help Desk.
• The Summer Reading Program ends July 31.

Some things to note:

Read for as long as you like! Your days do not have to be in a row. All kinds of reading and listening count!

Prizes are available to children from birth through Grade 8.

Prize entry winners will be contacted after August 1.

Media Match Jr., EPL’s recommendation service for the youngest members of our community, is a great place to go! Start by filling out our kids' form which asks additional questions to make sure we can make the best possible suggestions for children.

Community Coupons are valid through September 30, 2025. Coupons are one-time use and are required upon redemption.

After every ten days of reading, you’ll earn rewards. Visit the Summer Reading table in the Kids’ Library for your prizes. When you’ve completed 20 days of reading and 40 days of reading, you’ll earn a Community Coupon. Your Community Coupon is good for one-time use. You get to choose from any one of the participating sponsors  to redeem your desired prize. The vendor will collect your coupon when you redeem your prize.
