Set a goal for yourself and watch your reading grow!

  • How to Participate

    • Pick up a reading log at the Help Desk or print a log from home. Set a reading goal for yourself. How many minutes do you want to listen or read each day?
    • Write each day you read on your reading log.
    • After every 10 days of reading, bring your log to the Kids’ Library for a prize!
    • Prize pickup begins May 26.
    • Recommend a book to us when you check in.

    Prizes are available to children from birth through Grade 8.


    To arrange prize pickup accommodations, email kids@elmlib.org.


    Fill out an All-in Bonus entry form for an extra chance to win a prize for household participation!

    Take a look at the lists of Summer Reading Recommendations, curated by our librarians!


    Media Match Jr., EPL’s recommendation service for the youngest members of our community, is a great place to go! Start by filling out our kids' form which asks additional questions to make sure we can make the best possible suggestions for children.

  • Community Coupon

    Community Coupons are valid through September 30, 2026. Coupons are one-time use and are required upon redemption.


    After every ten days of reading, you’ll earn rewards. Visit the Summer Reading table in the Kids’ Library for your prizes. When you’ve completed 30 days of reading, you’ll earn a Community Coupon. Your Community Coupon is good for one-time use. You get to choose from any one of the participating sponsors  to redeem your desired prize. The vendor will collect your coupon when you redeem your prize.

Adult + High School Summer Reading

IT ALL ADDS UP! Use the Library to score points and win prizes. Every page, every project, every visit matters. With all the ways you can spend your summer, choose EPL and … COUNT YOURSELF IN! 

  • How to Participate

    Use Beanstack (see instructions below) to log your activities — whether you’re reading*, watching, playing, attending programs, studying, connecting with others, writing reviews, or however else you use the Library. Every activity you log and every time you log it boosts your chance to win prizes! 


    Ten lucky participants will win the grand prize, $100 in Elmhurst City Centre Gift Cards.**  


    New this year, show us your library card and first logged book or activity at the 2nd Floor Information Desk, and receive a prize while supplies last. 


    And while you're at EPL this summer, keep your eyes out for other opportunities that can earn you more chances to win. 


    *Books, audiobooks, and graphic novels all count!   


    **Grand prize drawing winners will be contacted after July 31. 

  • Eligibility

    Adults and High School students with an Elmhurst Public Library card are eligible. 

  • Using Beanstack

    You can log your activities through either the Beanstack website or the Beanstack app.

Summer Reading Wrap-Up Party

Saturday, July 25 • 11 a.m.-2 p.m. • Kids' Library

Celebrate the end of Summer Reading at our Plant a Seed, Read Wrap-Up Party! Enjoy music, face painting, and a sweet treat as we celebrate our summer readers! No registration required.


Summer Reading All-In Bonus!

Go all in! If everyone in your household participates in the Summer Reading Program, tell us by filling out an All-In Bonus entry form to be entered into an additional prize drawing. Five lucky households will win $30 Elmhurst City Centre gift cards.
