Culture Pass Program

The Library's culture pass program provides EPL cardholders with free or discounted tickets to cultural centers and events in the Chicagoland area. Visit the Checkout Desk for more information and to check out passes.

This service allows EPL cardholders to receive admission or special discounts at participating fun and educational Chicago area cultural destinations.


Plan your visit from any computer, tablet, or smartphone.  Login with your EPL card and last name, pick a pass, reserve your pass, and print.

Museum Adventure Pass

  • Passes are available on a first-come, first-served basis to Elmhurst Public Library cardholders only.
  • Borrow one pass per cardholder, per loan period.
  • Availability of passes and museums varies daily.
  • There are two ways to see what is available and get a pass: virtually and in-person.


How it works virtually: Get a pass emailed to you


  1. Request online anytime. Approved passes are emailed during library open hours.
  2. Click "ONLINE Pass Request" next to the museum you want to visit.
  3. Enter your first name, last name, library card number, and email address, then press submit.
  4. Library staff will review your request during business hours and you will receive an email. (Please note: There is sometimes a short delay between the request being received and the pass being reviewed. We appreciate your patience!) If your request has been approved,* the email will include an electronic version of your pass.
  5. Download the pass to your device to use electronically or print the pass at home to take with you on your visit.


*Reasons online passes may not be approved: no passes available on the day requested, the requester may already have another active pass checked out, and/or the requester is not an Elmhurst library cardholder.


How it works in-person: Ask what's available and pick up at the Library


  1. Bring your Elmhurst library card to the Checkout Desk to request a pass.
  2. Use within seven days of receiving your pass.
  3. Take the pass, library card, and photo ID with you on your visit.
