Exam Proctoring
We will proctor tests only for Elmhurst residents and holders of Elmhurst business cards or business stickers. This service is provided free of charge. You must present a photo ID at the time your exam is given to you.
You will need to arrange a specific date and time to take your exam with the Adult Services Department. After you do this you will be able to give your school the specific name of the person who will be proctoring your exam. While this is the best arrangement, it is possible to send the exam generically to the Head of Adult Services or the Assistant Head of Adult Services. However, you need to contact us before you have any exam sent. The Elmhurst Public Library is not responsible for exams that are sent without making prior arrangements.
When the exam arrives we will call you to let you know it is here. It is essential that you give your school enough time to mail the exam so that the test will be here on the day you wish to take it.
The librarian will read and follow all exam instructions. Any irregularities will be noted with the returned exam. Librarians will not grade examinations. You will have to make special arrangements with your school if they normally ask proctors to grade exams.
You must provide a postage-paid return envelope; generally this comes with the exam.
The librarian to whom the exam was sent, and who proctored your exam, will sign off on the exam and mail it.
