Adult Computer
Classes 
The library offers a number of hands-on computer classes
in the computer lab (located on the 2nd Floor) that are open
to EPL cardholders high school age and older. We have classes
for those with little or no computer experience and for those
who want to learn new computer applications.
Fees
All classes require a $10 fee unless otherwise noted. Fees must be paid by
cash or check at the 2nd Floor Information Desk at the time of registration.
Refunds will not be given, but you will receive a $10 voucher for another
class if you cancel at least 7 days in advance.
Classes
Level I-For
those with little or no computer experience
Intro to Computers 1
Learn the basics of using a computer, such as
logging on, using the mouse and basic Microsoft Windows
skills. No previous computer knowledge is required.
Intro to Computers 2
Building on the skills from Intro to Computers 1, learn to run programs and
manipulate files in preparation for using programs such as Microsoft Word and
Excel.

Learn how to search the library's catalog.
Level II-For
those with basic computer experience
Intro to Word
Learn how to use Microsoft Word, a word processing
program. You'll learn basic skills such as creating, saving
and naming a document; entering and correcting text; formatting
and aligning text and more. No prior knowldege of Word
is required, but you must have basic Windows, mouse and
keyboarding skills.
Internet Basics 1
Learn how to use the Internet. You must have basic
Windows, mouse and keyboarding skills to attend.
Internet Basics 2
Building on skills and knowledge from Internet
Basics 1, you will learn more about searching, Internet
security and Internet privacy.
Intro to PowerPoint
Learn how to use Microsoft PowerPoint, a presentation
program. You'll learn basic skills such as creating, saving
and naming a presentation; making and formatting slides;
using graphics and more. You must have basic Windows, mouse
and keyboarding skills.
Using Email
Learn how to get an e-mail account and use it. Prior Internet experience or
completion of Internet Basics & Intro to Computers classes is required.
Excel 1
Through hands-on exercises, students will learn the basics of Excel 2007 spreadsheets,
including structure essentials such as cells, rows, columns, sorting and filtering.
Ebay 101
Learn about the searching, watching, and bidding process to find and buy items.
To show the selling process, the instructor will bring an item to class, photograph
it, and place it on an online auction, while offering tips and tricks for effective
selling techniques along the way.
How to Make a Web Page
Participants will learn to create a simple web page that will be live on the
Internet. No web design experience is required, but you must have basic Windows,
Internet, mouse and keyboarding skills. In order to participate, attendees
must have an e-mail account that is accessible from within the library.
